FACTS Their tale is often longer than their body. They are omnivores Native to Madagascar. They are nocturnal.
LIFE CYCLE 1.Babys are carried around in there mothers mouth for a couple weeks. 2.Once they are strong enough to hold on there mothers back they do get carried . 3.Lemurs live for about 18 years.
ADAPTATIONS The lemurs have opposable thumbs to help them climb trees and catch their food. They have stink fights using scent glands on their wrists. They have long tails to help them balance. Their nocturnal abilities keep them safe. They use their teeth as combs.
INHERITED TRAITS Their tail is often longer than their body. They don’t see well in color. The lemur is not able to hang from its tail like monkeys.
HABITAT They live in trees. They mainly live in Madagascar. In Madagascar they have two seasons. They are omnivores so therefore they eat fruit, nuts, insects, and small rodents. They have hot and rainy season and also a cooler and dry season.
FUN FACTS • Lemurs like to travel in groups.
How Lemurs solve or create problems Lemurs are helpful to humans because humans eat them in Madagascar. They are very loud.
