CEITSan Sebastian (Spain) • Physical Microsystems • Biochemical Microsystems • Optoelectronic Microsystems Type of organisation: Research Institute Specialising in: (among others) Environmental Engineering & Microelectronics and Microsystems Wastewater Treatment Systems Waste Solid Treatment Systems Integrated Water Management More specifically: Mathematical Modelling and Simulation-based Software Tools for improving the design and operation of Water Systems Instrumentation, Control and Automation of Processes Application of Information & Communication Technologies for development of Remote Monitoring Software tools for Supervision and Diagnosis of Water and Waste Treatment Systems In-house capacity: Staff of 149 (77 of which hold a PhD Degree) and 96 Phd Students TEWS Info Day, 31 Jan 2006, Paris
Potential Interest/Contribution to TEWS • Development of a software architecture for remote monitoring and storage of well-structured data. • Connecting data with data analysis tools (statistical or mathematical modelling-based tools, knowledge-based decision support tools,…) in order to facilitate quick diagnosis and generation of early warnings. • Development of new low-power microsensor systems, integrated in deep-sea buoys or cables, to enhance Tsunami detection. Contact point: Mr. Pablo de Lecea, International Projects Director • Email: plecea@ceit.es • Tel: +34 943 21 28 00 • Url: http://www.ceit.es
Desired Level of Cooperation • Willing to participate in: • Multidisciplinar Environmental Technologies related projects (STREPs, SSAs and CAs) • Any kind of project regarding microsystems development • Creating a group engaged in multidisciplinary research for the main purpose of this Call: Developing Early warning systems for geo-physical hazards
