Borexino • Refrig. system: • Installed in Dec • lt lowers the top temperature of 3-4 °C • to be tested with switching on/off the magnets. Works on rs side • Floor and ULS zone: • Installation completed • BMS safety fence completed • Also safety barriers around magnets • BMS impacts twice against these barriers on Tue 13/1 • Dominique was not aware of the barriers installation Spinetti
Shifts needs • CNGS run : • from 27/4 up to 15/11, 30 weeks Loc sh + Rem sh • ED on site: 3 people (RC, Sh, Mag) • ED remote: 4 people (Daq TT,HPT, RPC) 90 + 120 • TOTAL Shifts • BMS, BH, Developments: • all the year but with different effort, 48 weeks • BMS single shift in Jan and in May-Ago 101 + 33 • double shift Feb-Apr (CS repl) and Sep-Dec (reinforce extr.) • BH 2-3 people/day according to n of bricks 126 + …. • Dev single shift in Jan-May 192 + 48 • CS Scanning: • all the year,constant effort, 48 weeks • 3 shifts/day + 1 expert 192 + 48 • Total shifts (in weeks) 701 + 249 • shifts / sign ~ 6 weeks Spinetti
Shifts sharing and organizer Sharing table rearranged for an optimal filling of the needs: contacts with Inst Rap. Bern+ETH, NA, LNF,SA, RM, IPCH,NGY contacted. Ham, IPNL guess from past Spinetti

CS & Bricks • Production of CSD envelopes: • In Dec CSD production completed (Jp+Rus teams) : • 17000 CS replacing, 4000 new bricks, ~2000 reinserted bricks • CS replacement in hall C: • area needed already completely free • tables, tools, network and computers in preparation • brick extraction for ‘08 data concentrated in some Mondays • big effort: 2 teams of 2 people + supervisor • double shifts for BMS • 3 months (Feb-Apr) • ~ 50 week shifts • BAM Production of 3200 new bricks: • Jan 12th BAM has switched on • 3-4 days for alignment • production starteat increasing rate • for Jan 26 about 1800 bricks will be produced • end of production for middle Feb • BAM shifts not in the tables above. Brick Handling • Improvements in tooling: • Automatic system for rotating bricks in Cosmic pit: • prevents errors in positioning the bricks for exposure • For the CS X-machine a simplier system for handling lead shielding: speed and safety Spinetti
