Delivering electronic Natura 2000 data via Reportnet CDR Based on a presentation for the Habitats Committee (13-02-2009) prepared by Sheila Cryan and Marek Staron (EEA SEIS support programme)
Introduction • Since April 2009 Member States have started delivering their Natura 2000 datasets through Reportnet Central Data Repository. • To perform this task, each Member State has designated their Natura 2000 “national data coordinators” who have received the necessary credentials to access the system. • New deliveries should henceforth be submitted only through Reportnet. From 2010 onwards, data submitted by another channel will no longer be accepted.
Starting the delivery 1 • Complete and quality check your Natura 2000 electronic data (tabular and GIS files) • Go to your country folder in Reportnet Central Data Repository (CDR)
Login with your Eionet user name and password • Contact the helpdesk if you have any problems helpdesk@eionet.europa.eu
Upload your N2000 files to the envelope • “Add file” lets you to upload any single file. • “Upload zipfile” lets you to upload a zipfile which will automatically unpack. • “Add hyperlink” lets you to add the url of a published reference document
Important: Do you need to restrict a file from public view? Check the box when you upload a file that must be restricted from public view.

Released envelopes are public at http://cdr.eionet.europa.eu Restricted files in the envelope cannot be opened by the public
Public view of released envelope 2 • Access to locked files in released envelope is for: • Nominated national data suppliers • DG ENV • N2000 technical support team
Automatic email notification of envelope release sent to all subscribed Eionet users
Official submission of electronic data 1 • To make your delivery an official submission of the electronic N2000 data, you need to do more than just release the envelope! • You can still change the contents of a released envelope if you revoke the release • Revoke sets your envelope back to draft status • You need to finish the delivery process.
Official submission of electronic data 2 Press “Complete” to generate the automatic acknowledgement of delivery • Finish the envelope: this will close the envelope and indicate to DG Environment that your electronic submission is complete. An automatic acknowledgement of the delivery will be generated in CDR at this stage.
Official submission of electronic data 3 The automatic acknowledgement has been attached to the envelope. The envelope contents cannot be modified. • This receipt must be used as an annex to the formal notification of delivery sent to DG Environment by the Permanent Representative, only then your electronic data will be considered as official by DG Environment and the electronic data will be validated.
How to subscribe to notifications 2 You can modify your subscriptions at any time Scroll through obligations list To select multiple obligations – hold down “Ctrl” key Select a specific country or “Any country”
