  2. EAMS ON THE WEB If you are a property administrator, principal investigator or department head, it is important to know how to properly manage your department assets.

  3. EAMS – Phase I • “CAMP Team” Initiative – BFS ManagersCampus Asset Management Project Address the needs of the inventory for campus customers, while incorporating improvements to manage and maintain UC and government policy.

  4. EAMS – Phase II • Development & Process Team • BFS Systems, Equipment Mgmt and Campus Customers Work together to provide a web-based system for campus customers, with the “Ability To” efficiently manage your departmental assets.

EAMS - Registration • Single Sign On • Final Approver (FA) • Register Property Administrator (PA) Access • Register Custody Codes to (PA) for management • Approves all transactions • Create Trouble Tickets - Get our “Attention!” The new system will provide campus FA’s the ability to grant and remove instant access to their PA‘s under their registered account.

  7. EAMS – “PA” • Property Administrator (PA) • Make changes to department equipment records • Initiate Equipment Inventory Modifications Requests (EIMR’s) • Search by: • UCID • Serial Number • Building /Room • PA Name • Find the owner of a specific asset(s)

EAMS – The Benefits • What are the benefits of the new System? • Ability to maintain assets with ease • Ability to have Instant Access Upon registration • Ability to add/delete Property Administrator (PA) accounts and grant instant access • Ability to assign specific custody codes to “PA’s” • Ability to print Reports On-demand • Ability to record important asset historical information from beginning to end.

EAMS – Importance of Equipment Management • What is the importance of Equipment management?The university must be able to at all times: • Report expenditures for equipment to federal, state, and private funding agencies • Record the inventory value, including depreciation, of equipment located at UCSD • Make records of equipment transactions available to auditors
