Local Authority Owned Hostel Core Support or supervision provided (Possibly via SP contract) * PROPERTY IS A HOSTEL Owner of the accommodation is the Local Authority (with no leasehold to anyone else) Support is provided either by the local authority or by a different agency Client’s Landlord is the Local Authority
Refuge Owner of the building including (leaseholders) is a housing authority, a housing association, an English upper-tier county council, a registered charity or a not-for-profit organisation * If Owner of building is a Housing Association registered with HCA they will probably be eligible for full rent. Same applies if they are a local authority If they are not registered with HCA or are not a council they may be subject to LHA PROPERTY IS A REFUGE Building, or part of a building is used wholly or mainly for non-permanent accommodation of persons who have left their homes as a result of domestic violence. No requirement to provide care, support or supervision Client’s landlord is a local authority, a housing association, an English upper-tier county council, a registered charity or a not-for-profit organisation
Supported Housing (or Hostel) Where Owner of the Building and Care, Support or Supervision Provider Are Separate agencies. And no leasehold between them exists Core Support or supervision provided (Possibly via SP contract) * If Owner of building is a Housing Association registered with HCA they will probably be eligible for full rent. If they are not registered with HCA they may be subject to LHA Owner of the building is a housing authority, a housing association, an English upper-tier county council, a registered charity or a not-for-profit organisation. The provider (or other providers affected) received a Resettlement Grant 1990s Housing Association Owned
