Computer Science Department Description • History • 1979 - First CS degree granted, as part of the Math Department • 1991 - Became CS Department • 1999 – Accredited by CSAB • 2000 - Software Engineering program introduced • 2001 – CS Degree accredited by ABET • 2006 – SE Degree accredited by ABET

Scholarship Program • Four Online Modules - $150 Scholarship for each one completed ($600 possible) • What is Computer Science? • Careers in Computer Science • Programming with Alice • Image Processing • Summer Camp – Doubles the amount earned on modules • Two Day Camp • Hasn’t been held yet – low enrollment
Computer Science Department Directions • Other Issues: • Student Transfers • Not too much of an issue • Students tend to transfer in because of small size; Preparation usually adequate • Distance Education • Will be putting Data Mining online this summer • No other classes online yet
