A) Tide – the daily rise and fall of water level 1) Caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and sun on the oceans 2) One low-tide-high-tide cycle is about 12 hours and 25 minutes 3) High tide is the highest level that the ocean reaches on shore 4) Low tide is the lowest level that the ocean reaches on shore

6. B) Effect of the Moon 1) The moon pulls the oceans toward itself causing a bulge on the side closest to the moon 2) The moon also pulls the earth toward itself causing a bulge on the side away from the moon
