Albert’s Story When the heavy snow soaks through your hoodie and light T shirt, you shiver all the way through math. YESTERDAY… bent over against the driving snow, Albert walked the 1/2 mile to the school bus heavy with worry. He and his little brother stayed inside during lunch. They threw no snow balls. They made no snow angels. Snowballs and snow angels are for other kids.
Yesterday… Albert’s mother gave her winter coat to his sister …and she now has none of her own. YESTERDAY… Albert and his mother were filled with what they call the “winter worry. ” Sadly, this story is common in the rural mid-mountain West. After bills and food, warm winter coats are “extras.”
But…TODAY, Albert and his siblings skipped and ran all the way to the bus! TODAY a truck with thousands of BRAND NEW COATS is coming all the way from New Jersey! TODAY the children in Albert’s family and others can hardly wait to get home! Today, they get their brand new warm coats! TODAY, Albert’s mother and other parents in communities in the region can worry less. And everyone can smile more!
TODAY… Albert is going to teach his little brother …how to make SNOW ANGELS!
