Criteria for Selection • Quantitative Data (Trimester Grades, Midterm and Final Common Assessments, 5th Grade CMT Mathematics Subtest Scores, and Orleans-Hanna Algebra Readiness Test) • Qualitative Data (homework, problem solving & critical thinking skills, work ethic, motivation, and degree of independence)

  5. Program Elements • 7th Grade Accelerated Algebra • curriculum and common assessments align with HS course • 8th Grade Math Class • Mid-term and final common assessments • Exams are worth 20% of final grade in the class

Program Elements • 8th Grade Accelerated Geometry • 8th Grade Math Class • Mid-term and final common assessments • Exams are worth 20% of final grade in the class • Students travel to BEHS (from NEMS) or to BCHS (from MBMS) for 1st period A days • Return to MS for 2nd Period • Support for study group provided for B days • Special schedule for CMT and exams • Grades come from the high school teacher

  7. Graduation Requirements • State sets minimum graduation requirements • Minimum 3 credits of mathematics required to graduate high school • Current district policy - credit is granted for courses taken in high school (grades 9-12) not for middle school courses
