A little background... • UK severely under-represented in EU institutions (European Commission, Parliament etc) • EFS originally launched in 1991 but stopped in 2007 • Resurrected in 2010 as part of the ‘Success in the EU’ initiative • Funded by all government departments
The two year EFS programme • Departmental postings • Language Training • Intensive introduction to EU course • Concours - computer based tests training • Concours - assessment centre training • A five month placement in the European Commission (e.g. NEPT)
