The movie tells a story about a love(Viki and Carl) and the Hungarian revolution in 1956.
In 1955, a meeting in Moskow the referee didn't allow the Hungarian group to win. So all the Hungarian group prepares for the return match. But the revolution was started in Budapest.
At first, Carl and Tibor only looked for the adventure. Carl picked up on Viki, the soldierlike undergraduate girl, followed her, and he was at all the most important places of the revolution.
They were at the Building of the Radio,and at Kossuth square. Now, this already wasn't a game. They springed to arms, and fought for justice together.
He realized: in life, there are thingsthat are more important than tarining. He stood in the casual episodes, and he got close friends.
The end of October. The revolutionists think that they win, their fight and sacrifice weren't barren. The country is free. Carl went to the match because of Viki’s inspiration.
The group go to the match, but Carl has a strange feeling, because of the Russian combat cars around the city. But he can’t turn back. He understands from advices: the Russians will compass Hungary .
At the end of the movie, there are two episodes in the same time.In the first, the Russians carry Viki to the scaffold, but she isn't afraid.She sings the Hungarian anthem when they kill her.
The other is at the final in Melbourne, where the Hungarian group fight with the Russian group. In the exciting, and bloody meeting, the Hungarians won.
The moovie shows the revolution realisticly. The Hungarians lost the revolution, the Russians enslaved them. They lost their youth, they only had their thrall.
