Bc free skiing Free skiing in bc n’ stuff
Free skiing! • Free skiing consists of many different types of skiing. Powder skiing , of course, pillow skiing, spines, and booters. When you live in a place like BC and are as lucky as we are with all of the snow we get it makes it all super fun in the sense that you can do all of those categories with in the first one. Powder skiing. Powder pillows, powder spines, and powder booters.
Powder pillows • Powder pillow skiing is possible when large stumps or rocks sticking out of the ground have an abundance of powder snow build up on top. Usually pillows are found in clusters creating a pillow zone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wChJ3a7-TwM
Spines • Spines, in a sense, are hard to describe. They’re big long A-frames of snow that run all the way down a slope, and the objective is sort of to ski both sides of it as much as possible in one run. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_rUDD8CKpM
Booters • Booters is just slang for big kicky jumps. This genre is important, this is where we all learn our tricks before we can bring them to littler jumps around the mountain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=883r871_RfA
Summary • This video kind of sums up free-skiing completely. It’s Nick McNutt’s season edit and has all or most aspects of free-skiing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYbYngBG0MI
