Towards understanding nonperturbative QCD • Nucleon is fundamental in understanding QCD • confinement • asymptotic freedom • spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking • Mass around us mostly due to nucleons • quark mass accounts for only about 1% • mostly due to dynamics of gluons and quarks • Do we understand the structure of baryons?
