REQUIRED MATH ACTIVITIES • MAT 0002 – Weekly Computer Assignments (Numerics) • MAT 0024 – Weekly Math Activity Packets • MAT 1033 – Weekly Math Activity Packets • All Other Math Courses – Students use the Academic Support Center resources to achieve excellence
MAT0002 COURSE • Student accounts will be set up by the ASC staff • You will access the lab activities by clicking on the following desktop links • Completion of 16 modules constitutes 20% of your final Math grade Numerics
MAT0024 & MAT1033 COURSES • ASC staff will distribute and collect packets due Saturday at 4:00pm each week • The ASC will score the packets as follows: • Complete: 2 points • Incomplete, but at least 50% complete: 1 point • Less than 50% complete or no activity: 0 points • This activity constitutes 20% of your final Math grade for MAT0024 or 10% of your final grade for MAT1033
MAT0024 & MAT1033 STUDENT PROCEDURE Sign in at the Front Desk Get Activity Packet from a math Learning Specialist No Yes Complete the Activity Packet Check answers and circle incorrect answers on the front sheet Give the packet to a Learning Specialist He/she will file it. Sign-out at Front Desk Review the packet with a learning specialist and leave it with him/her Return by Saturday to complete the packet. Remember to Sign-in at Front Desk Retrieve the packet from the Learning Specialist. Complete the Packet Activities Sign-out at Front Desk Check answers and circle incorrect answers on the front sheet Reminder: The cut-off date for completion of weekly Math Activities is Saturday at 4:00 pm Review the packet with a learning specialist and leave it with him/her

Tutoring • Various tutoring activities are available including: • Scheduled weekly one hour Learning Sessions for every Math courses • Scheduled weekly one hour Group Tutoring Sessions for MAT0002, MAT0024, MAT1033, and MAC1105 • Scheduled weekly One-on-One Tutoring sessions for MAT0002, MAT0024, and MAT1033 • Question and Answer sessions
LEARNING SPECIALIST/MATH FACULTY • Have a working knowledge of academic technology and multimedia programs • Assist students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds • Possess the credentials and expertise to provide assistance one-to-one or in groups
Peer/Professional Tutors • Peer and Professional Tutors provide expertise, experience, and encouragement • They assist in problem solving and getting answers
