Symposium Speakers Bill Spitz - As a Co-Founder of Diversified Trust, Bill has served on the board since its inception and has been instrumental in the ongoing development of the company’s investment platform. From 1985 to 2007, Bill served as Treasurer and Vice Chancellor for Investments of Vanderbilt University where he presided over a ten-fold increase in endowment assets, during which time its investment performance placed in the top quartile of large endowments. Bill received NACUBO’s Rodney H. Adams Award which recognizes significant contributions to the field of endowment management, and the Hirtle Callaghan Award of Investment Leadership with exemplary investment management performance and unwavering professional ethics. He is also the 2008 recipient of Foundation & Endowment Money Management’s Lifetime Achievement award. Bill also serves on the Board of Directors of Mass Mutual Financial Group, Acadia Realty Trust, London-based Cambium Global Timberland, Ltd. and is a member of the Investment Committee of the University of Oxford (UK). He authored “Get Rich Slowly: Building your Financial Future through Common Sense,” and is a frequent speaker at financial conferences. Bill earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago, where he was a Leon Carroll Marshall scholar. Tony Fadool – Tony is the Chief Sales Strategist & Senior Vice President of Federated Investors. He draws on his 40 years of experience in the securities industry as a wirehouse broker, president of a bank-owned brokerage firm and national sales manager. His ability to present a unique perspective to financial intermediaries and consumers as to how they can build wealth - regardless of what the market is doing. Tony’s extensive experience makes him a captivating guest speaker. Kavanaugh Tucker - Kav is a Vice President for the Credit Suisse Life Finance Group, based in New York. A graduate of Georgia Tech, Kav has been working at Credit Suisse for 2 years, specializing in Life Settlements and Premium Finance. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Kav spent 6 years working with two national life insurance brokerage agencies. Breakout Session Speakers Keith Buck, JD, LLM, CLU, FLMI – Keith Buck is a Director in the Advanced Designs Unit with Pacific Life Insurance Company and he is responsible for providing estate and business planning support. Keith has 18 years of experience as an advanced marketing attorney in the life insurance industry. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa, obtained his law degree from Drake Law School in 1991, where he graduated Order of the Coif (top 10%). He earned his Masters of Law Degree (LLM in Tax) from Boston University Law School. Keith has had several articles published and is also a frequent speaker on a variety of estate and business planning topics and has spoken at the MDRT Top of the Table Conference, LIMRA Advanced Sales Conference, and the AALU Annual Meeting. John Kidd, CFA - John has been a member of the multi-asset structured investments team at Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. since 2006. He provides advice to institutional investors and to the fee-based advisory community. Prior to working with Duetsche, John founded a student loan company and worked as an investment banker with Scotia Capital, Inc. in Toronto, ON, where he executed structured finance and securitization mandates. John holds a BScE (Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering) from Queen’s University and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a CFA charterholder. Dan Waldron -Dan Waldron is Senior Vice President and head of Exchange Traded Funds for First Trust. Prior to joining First Trust in the spring of 2005, Dan was Executive Director for Scudder Investments, a Deutsche Asset Management company from September 2003 through June 2004. Dan was the Director of the Investment Products Group responsible for product research, development and management of all open-end, closed-end, offshore, and variable insurance funds. Dan has also worked for Van Kampen Investments , Fidelity Capital Markets, and Kemper Financial. Nancy Gardner - Nancy is a Sr. Underwriting Officer and the Tennessee Personal Lines Manager with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies. Her current responsibilities include marketing, underwriting, and the training of staff and independent insurance agents. With almost 30 years of insurance experience, Nancy has worked with various national insurance carriers throughout the U.S. She holds a Property & Casualty license in the state of TN and has also been an active member of SITE (Society of Insurance Trainers & Educators) as well as other insurance industry associations. Mickey Vetter - Mickey is a Regional Vice President for Coventry, the leader in the secondary market for life insurance and the company who pioneered the life settlement industry. He is responsible for developing strategic alliances with insurance, trust, legal and accounting professionals in the Southern region of the United States. Prior to joining Coventry, Mickey was a Senior Account Representative with SEI Investments. He is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance. Mike Wesson, CPC, CEBS -Mike is a principal at Acuff & Associates and has more than 24 years of experience in retirement plan consulting, communications, and administration. He is responsible for marketing. Mike works with financial advisors and prospective clients to help them find the best retirement plan solution for the client, both from the plan design and the administrative perspective.
