Three Best Tips • Don’t use your automatic setting (use a night setting if you can) • Use along enough shutter speed (.5 a sec-2 seconds) and a wider enough apeture (small f stop number) to capture the light needed • Don’t cause shake when pressing the shutter release button (you will definitely use a tripod or something to rest your camera on) -Gorillapod - you can use the self timer
If you don’t have a tripod… • If possible, lean agaist a wall, lamp post... or rest your hands / elbows on a solid surface to keep steady • If not possible, pressed the sides of your arms against your body • Take a deep breath and HOLD YOUR BREATH while you press the shutter.
Inside lookin out • If you are inside a car, house, or hotel make sure all interior lights are off so that you don’t have any reflections in the window
Use a flashlight or spot light • Sometimes you’ll want to draw attention to or simply lighten up an important part of the foreground which is too dark.
Best Time • The best time of night is right after the sun goes down and the following hour • But if it is much later, don’t worry! Your camera often times sees more light than your eye

Lastly… • Don’t EVER use a flash!!!!!!!!!
