Get Your Books! 1) Come get your Animal Farm books! 2) Remember to get YOUR book, the same one you had last time (the list you signed last time is taped to my desk) – the numbers are on the top facing outwards. 3) Also remember: This book is your exit ticket. You cannot leave without handing me your book personally.
Take out a sheet of paper Write your heading Title it: “Reading Log” • We’re going to read chapter 3-4 • Take a quick seven minute break after each chapter to write a reflection • Then discuss • Questions?
Ch. Three: Turn to pg. 23 in your book • Write the number and page of the chapter, and take notes:-characters? -details? -images? -metaphors?
Hmmmmm... What do I think ? • What do you think of the new farm? What seems hopeful or positive about their new home? • How is it better or worse than when Mr. Jones was in charge? • What is your reaction to the characters? Do they seem like they are in good hands (or trotters )? • How is Squealer able to convince the other animals to accept whatever Napoleon decides? • RUSSIAN REVOLUTION: What connection does this farm have with the new Russia? How does Animal Farm’s rebellion look like Russia’s revolution? SEVEN MINUTE REFLECTION BREAK! Take seven minutes to write a reflection on the chapter -- should write a paragraph over the importance of the events.
