  3. Solution: The RETSINA Calendar Agent • Retsina Agent that performs individual and team-based calendar-scheduling (R. Singh).

  4. Solution: Working with MS Outlook • Retsina Calendar Agent performs distributed meeting scheduling /negotiation • based on Contract Net Protocol • Accesses/Updates MS Outlook calendar information • Also provides access to other information managed by MS Outlook, including: • Contact Lists • Email Archives • Communicates with other agents through KQML ACL • For example - Electronic Secretary… • Web based appointment requester • http://chronus.cimds.ri.cmu.edu/scheduling/

  5. Agent Community Solution: Retsina Calendar Agent Architecture OLE Automation (COM) Retsina Calendar Agent MS Outlook Talks to other agents through KQML ACL

  6. Solution: Modifying the Calendar Agent • Solution to Challenge: • Modified to retrieve and parse the RDF files • Schedule is then inserted insert into Outlook calendar. • Can now serve schedule to other agents via KQML ACL. • Lets see it work…
