Steps for Multiplying: • Take away the decimals from the problem. • Multiply or Divide like you would a whole number problem. • Count the amount of decimals to the right of each number in the original problem. • Insert your decimal that many places from the right in your answer.

Steps for Dividing: Once the problem is written correctly, the four steps for dividing are: • Move the outside decimal all the way to the right • Move the inside decimal to the right the same number of places as the outside decimal was moved • Raise the inside decimal straight up • Divide
