  1. Puttin’ Them in Order Directions: For each slide, please put the books in alphabetical order. Write the 3-letter spine label in order on your sheet.

The Dewey of Fiction • According to the Dewey Decimal System, every book in Fiction will have the spine label “FIC” and underneath there will be the first 3 letters in the author’s last name. • When we put a book back, we have to alphabetize up to the 3rd letter in order for students to find books correctly Spine label

  3. Directions • There are 3 slides of books that are out of order. Use the spine labels to help you put them in order. • On your paper, write the spine labels in order • Ex) Here are samples of the first 3 letters in the author’s last name that are out of order.
