  1. What is Hastelloy Fastener? Hastelloy is a nickel-molybdenum alloy available in a number of different grades – each of which is optimised for a specific purpose. Whilst the different grades are optimised specifically, they all are highly resistant to corrosion, making them perfect as a fixing material. Fasteners Exporters in India Is Hastelloy better than stainless steel? Hastelloy, a nickel alloy, is a more exotic and expensive material of construction than stainless steel, which is an iron alloy. When you are dealing with an extremely corrosive product and stainless steel is not deemed suitable for the process, hastelloy is usually the best alternative. Hastelloy Vs Monel Hastelloy is one the most versatile alloys to be used in many in many industrial applications. The material composition has chromium, carbon, cobalt, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, aluminum, titanium, niobium, iron, copper, nickel and other elements. There are different grades of hastelloys that have different composition. Some of the grades are Alloy C, C4, B, B2, C276 and so on. Monel on the other hand is a nickel copper alloy that has prominently nickel and copper in the composition with silicon, manganese, carbon, and iron. Square Head Bolts and Nuts Is Hastelloy more expensive than stainless steel? As stated, hastelloy c22 typically costs more than stainless steel. For this reason, hastelloy c22 is generally reserved for applications that subject the wire mesh to severe conditions, such as extreme heat or unique corrosive conditions. Why is Hastelloy so expensive? The Hastelloy materials are more expensive than monel due to the composition. Although the primary reason for the cost is the raw material consumption, the production methods for hastelloys are also sophisticated and add up to the price.
