MISSION, BELIEFS AND CORE VALUES • Our Mission • TO EMPOWER INMATES TO RETURN TO SOCIETY AS MORE PRODUCTIVE AND POSITIVE CITIZENS • Our Beliefs • We believe that those in our custody have the potential to change. • We believe that our staff are our greatest asset in the achievement of our mission, and that they have the potential to bring about change.

Our Beliefs • We believe that the Bermuda Department of Corrections is an integral part of the Community. • We believe that we should operate the Department cost efficiently, while retaining the ability to achieve our mission. • Our Product • The end result of our mission will be a more productive and positive citizen.

  15. TRANSITIONAL LIVING CENTER • LOCATED NEXT TO WESTGATE • ACTS AS A “HALF-WAY HOUSE” FOR INMATES ON THEIR WAY OUT • THE AIM IS TO PROVIDE A STRUCTURED ENVIRONMENT SO THAT RESIDENTS CAN SUCCESSFULLY TRANSITION BACK TO SOCIETY • PROVIDES A “LIVING AT HOME” SETTING

  35. CONCLUSION • I DEFINITELY BELIEVE WE CAN ACHIEVE OUR MISSION • OUR CHARGES ARE OUR SONS, DAUGHTERS, FATHERS, MOTHERS, BROTHERS, SISTERS, ETC • THIS IS NOT A JOB FOR ME: IT IS A CALLING • WE SIMPLY HAVE TO BE IN THE BUISINESS OF RESTORATION AND REDEMPTION
