They tell you to hurt yourself, to hurt others. • They warn that others are out to harm you. You no longer have the ability to grasp what is real and what is not. You cannot trust anyone, not even yourself. • Your mind taunts you as you're left to wonder if your friends and family are out to get you.

This is a long-term mental disorder that causes friction between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. • Schizophrenia makes it difficult to know what is reality and what is a figment of the imagination. It leads to inappropriate actions and thoughts. It causes reality to fade, compromising personal relationships for a world of fantasy and delusion, of mental fragmentation. • Schizophrenia affects one percent of the general population. That's 70 million people throughout the world
