  2. INTRODUCTION With organizations of all types, social media is a crucial advertising network. A few years ago, the common question, why should our business use social media? Now, how can our company expand through social media marketing? As a social media marketer, I'm really curious about this. What makes me not happy is how many businesses often seek to advertise on social media without a recorded strategy.

  3. YOUR BUSINESS SHOULD TAKE STEPS TO BUILD AN EFFECTIVE MARKETING PLAN FOR SOCIAL MEDIA CREATE THE CROSS-FUNCTIONAL TEAM SET YOUR GOALS HERE YOUR AUDIENCE AND RIVALS CREATE A CHANNEL STRATEGY SELECT PROGRESS METRICS

  4. CREATE THE CROSS-FUNCTIONAL TEAM No one in the company should have "own" social media strategy. In all aspects of the business, social impacts should be more like air than water. Therefore, the first step in the process is to build a cross-functional team to help the remainder of the plan be formulated and run. Decide who, from advertising, customer service, marketing, content, etc. will be involved.

  5. SET YOUR GOALS You can use social media to help accomplish several business goals. But those that focus (at least initially) on a broader social context are the best social media tactics. What do you want to use online in the first place? Consciousness? Sales? Loyalty or withholding? Choose one of them.

  6. HERE YOUR AUDIENCE AND RIVALS It is now an old chestnut social media strategy, but "listening" is still good advice that is often ignored. The truth is that if you extend your social listening beyond your brand name, your consumers (and competitors) can give you a good guide on where and how you should be involved in social media. Analyzing how and where your audience conducts digital conversations naturally can save a troubled world.

CREATE A CHANNEL STRATEGY Only after you know why you're socially active and how you're going to measure success in social media strategy should you turn your attention to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and the rest. The channel strategy will help you understand the audience you want to connect with, the content plan and editorial schedule, any support you need, and how each particular platform's progress will be calculated.

  8. SELECT PROGRESS METRICS Choosing KPIs (key performance metrics) sets corporate standards on how to calculate the ROI of your social media activities. A plan for social media is an action project, not a quick fix. Progress, but only through patience and perseverance, will be seen. Thoughtful KPIs and practical quantifiable quarterly targets are required in the long-term purchase of leadership.
