  1. Punjab By- Elections upcoming PTI vs PML (N) battle Pakistani Siasat

  2. What’s the background? PTI bagged 159 seats after the 2018 Provincial Elections. With PML (Q)’s support as well as 25 out of 30 Independents joining them, the Imran Khan-led party achieved the majority of 186. And despite Pakistan Muslim League winning 164 seats, PTI managed to form government in the most populous province of the country.

  3. How many seats do PTI and PML (N) need for the CM slot? PTI holds 173 seats at the moment, with the party winning 163 in the 2018 provincial elections and PML(Q)’s 10 adding up. So the Imran Khan-led party will need another 13 to gain a majority in the assembly. The importance of this election for the two parties Meanwhile, PML (N) is already 177 seats strong, with PPP, PRHP, and other independent parties supporting them. Therefore, they require nine more seats to retain Hamza Shahbaz as Chief Minister.

  4. Who will win? Different experts are giving different opinions but the general consensus is that the contest will be very tough. Khan has been propagating the involvement of foreign powers in toppling his government in Pakistan. This narrative seems to have been working well in the urban areas. And so PTI’s position looks very strong in constituencies that fall in urban areas. Yasir Khan Jatoi and Mozzam Khan Jatoi in Muzaffargarh are expected to be very strong candidates for PTI while Saif Khosa in DG Khan is another name who is likely to garner huge votes for the party.
