  2. The Rosa M. Douglas Scholarship Foundation The Organization On March 4, 2008, The Rosa M. Douglas Scholarship Foundation was founded in honor of Mrs. Rosa M. Douglas. It is a 501(c)3, tax-exempt nonprofit organization that focuses on her major issues of concern: education, women’s health, culinary arts/food service, and community awareness and leadership in the Carolinas. The Rosa M. Douglas Scholarship Foundation will award two scholarships to promote these initiatives. The Pink Rose Scholarship will be awarded to advanced majors in women’s health. The Sapphire Scholarship will go to those seeking careers in the culinary arts.

  3. The Rosa M. Douglas Scholarship Foundation Mrs. Rosa M. Douglas • Mrs. Rosa M. Douglas, 1948-2007, was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and community activist. • She had a great passion for the culinary arts and shared her health struggles to empower others.  • She lived her life helping others. • After her unexpected and sudden death, The RMDSF was founded to continue her legacy.

Douglas Scholarship Foundation Culinary Arts Education • Depending on where you choose to attend classes, you should expect your annual culinary school expenses to fall somewhere within these ranges: • Community college: $2,000 to $5,000 • Culinary institute: $7,000 to $36,000 • Public university: $3,000 to $18,000 • Private university: $14,000 to $45,000 • These expenses may not include other fees such as books, cooking supplies, travel, etc. Source: Cookingschools101.com
