  4. What is a Personalised Learning Plan? (PLP) • Inclusive of all students (helping every learner to benefit from education) • Student centred • A partnership between students, teachers and parents • One that values the needs of the individual • One that encourages personal excellence • Flexible

  5. Stimulate discussion at parent interviews • Planning for overcoming any barriers to learning • Record achievements beyond a purely subject based focus (the whole child) • Equipping learners with the skills and attitudes to become life-long learners. • Encourages goal setting by students • Sets learning targets for students

  6. For students the aims of PLPs are: • To encourage self-evaluation of their own needs and active participation in negotiating personal targets • To empower students to adopt independent learning habits • To encourage the student to reflect on how they learn best. • To “raise the bar” and aim for constant improvement • To reflect on how personal growth and healthy relationships can impact on academic success • To prepare them to be “life-long” learners

Our expectations of whspa music students • All students are able to audition to be part of the annual school show or Cabaret. • If students wish to audition for Southern Stars, The Schools Spectacular or the ISER Performing/touring Ensemble they must be a member of an extra-curricula ensemble/or participant in the school show. • All students (Year 7-11) will participate in a Core Ensemble that runs Period 4 on a Tuesday afternoon. • All students will be invited to participate in an extra-curricula ensemble which will run before/after school Monday to Thursday or a school lunchtime.
