Census and Survey Data update Covers selected data of Population census 2011, 2001 and 1991 A significant number of Population census 2001 and 1991 data cover up to Upazila level Agriculture and economic census data have covered up to district level data In survey related data more parameters are needed to incorporate in different indicator It can be updated all available data

Spatial data update In existing system administrative boundary according to 2011 census is incorporated Data do not match with this administrative boundary of 2011 remain blank Using the shape file of 2001, 1991 and recent update data can minimize this problem Google map can be placed back with the existing maps Road network, river, infrastructures location etc. can be incorporated with administrative boundary

To improve quality of data by providing spatial reference of survey location, location based survey management, Identification of spatial gap of the survey location and spatial analysis capabilities.

Application tool update Project Information Management System (PIMS) BBS is implementing a number of projects all over the country This module will store project information as well as minimize the overlapping works and to avoid replication of similar activities Information- Project Details: Background, Rationale, Objective, Target, Linkage, Output, Cost: Estimated Cost, Original Cost, Actual Cost, Revised Info: Revised Completion Date, Revised Cost, Effect/Impact: Environment, Gender, poverty alleviation, Institutional etc.

Future Directions Greater collaboration between geospatial and statistical communities at national and international levels through: • Outreach – relevant conferences • Best practice guidelines • Partnerships between statistical and geospatial agencies Adopt a common approach to linking statistics to location The lack of a common approach needs to be resolved
