  1. Isaiah Sanderman & Joanna Josten Present: Humor, senses, memory, test scores

  2. IsaiahSanderman Bam! Dead Parents • Humor is known to have many positive effects on the human brain. It has effects on group behavior and social interactions, and it used in very diverse ways across different situations. It also increases group cohesion, creativity, and reduces stress, particularly in an office or classroom environment. Stress and creativity are two significant factors in academic performance. • Lecturing with humor has been shown to increase memory. However, using humor just before an examination to produce short-term effects has not been tested. My experiment is testing the effects of humor on students just before testing.

  3. JoannaJosten When Your Senses Come Alive, Will Your Test Scores? • Different tactics have been used for many years to improve memory skills. The Mozart effect, pneumonic devices, and Suggestopedia are all methods that have been previously invented to help with a person’s memory. Research has already been done to show that activating your senses while studying will use more parts of your brain to remember the information. • However, if a single sense, or all of the senses are activated together while studying, and then reintroduced again while testing, it may trigger your memory back to when you were studying. This may help you remember the information better.
