Educational reforms Managing the Transition from the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) to the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) implementation – Managing down the NQF provision Lists of accredited QCF qualifications confirmed for funding on a “live” list: http://qfr.lsc.gov.uk/ukvqrp/support/list

  7. Level 1 – Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy

Entry 3 Award/Certificate in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector To achieve full Award, candidates must complete 7 credits, comprising of the two mandatory units and one of the optional units. To achieve full Certificate, candidates must complete 13 credits, comprising of the two mandatory units and three of the optional units.

Level 1 Award/Certificate in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector To achieve full Award, candidates must complete a minimum of 7 credits, comprising of the two mandatory units and one of the optional units. To achieve full Certificate, candidates must complete a minimum of 13 credits, comprising of the two mandatory units and three of the optional units. To achieve full Diploma, candidates must complete a minimum of 37 credits, comprising of the two mandatory units and 33 further credits.

Key Changes to VRQ Assessment GOLA on line tests for each unit, covering essential knowledge and understanding or Assignments - which require the candidates to find out and report – no grading And Practical observations - which require candidates to demonstrate their skills – graded No synoptic test Enhanced coloured log books for Level 2 Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy With the exception of 3001, where GOLA is not available
