  2. The Getting to Know You project was created by the Marketing Committee in order to give SCPH staff the opportunity to put names with faces and faces with names, learn a little about what we all do and generally, just get to know US a little better!

  3. Our plan is to present all of our staff in these PowerPoint presentations over the coming months. So to kick things off without further ado, we now present…. The Marketing Committee

Kathy Coleman POSITION and DEPARTMENT: Technical Assistant, Administration WHICH LOCATION: Graham Road MAIN DUTIES: Web and graphic design, some preparedness activities HOW LONG IN PUBLIC HEALTH:8 years ONE INTERESTING/WEIRD/QUIRKY THING ABOUT YOUR JOB: I’ve learned that mixing all colors of a pigment (like ink) will give you black, while mixing all colors of light (like on a computer screen) will give you white. And that no 2 computer monitors look the same! ONE INTERESTING/WEIRD/QUIRKY THING ABOUT YOU: I have pointed ears – not exactly Spock-esque, but still….. Chris Partis POSITION and DEPARTMENT: Health Education Coordinator, Community Health WHICH LOCATION: Graham Road MAIN DUTIES: Assignments under the PHEP grant HOW LONG IN PUBLIC HEALTH:26+ years ONE INTERESTING/WEIRD/QUIRKY THING ABOUT YOUR JOB: You can really learn a lot about the community when you update HAN listings ONE INTERESTING/WEIRD/QUIRKY THING ABOUT YOU: I was a legal alien as a child FAMILY Married to Shelly – she teaches fourth grade at Betty Jane CLC in Ellet; plus we have a 7-year old goldfish named Dave ONE THING YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME: Relax; travel ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT YOURSELF? Marlene Martin POSITION and DEPARTMENT: Summit County Citizen Corps Programs Coordinator, Community Health WHICH LOCATION: Graham Road MAIN DUTIES: Coordination of volunteers, planning for disaster response, Closed POD planning with Long Term Care Facilities in Summit County HOW LONG IN PUBLIC HEALTH:13 years ONE INTERESTING/WEIRD/QUIRKY THING ABOUT YOUR JOB: I am a contractor under the Emergency Management Agency but housed at the Health Department ONE INTERESTING/WEIRD/QUIRKY THING ABOUT YOU: I am a vegetarian FAMILY My husband Chris “Marty” and I have 3 children: Jarrett 11, Nathan 7 and Allison 5 ONE THING YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME: Exercise, watch my kids play sports, hike and shop with my friends Scroll or use the spacebar to advance slide

Elizabeth Burke POSITION and DEPARTMENT: Public Health Educator, Community Health WHICH LOCATION: Graham Road MAIN DUTIES: Access to Care 50% and Child Family Health Services 50% HOW LONG IN PUBLIC HEALTH:27 years ONE INTERESTING/WEIRD/QUIRKY THING ABOUT YOUR JOB The seriousness and responsibility of speaking to ATC clients versus the delight and surprises that arise when dealing with daycare children who climb on your knee and ask, “What’s your name? Would you read a book to me? Do you have any doggies? How come you have dirt in that bag?” (Part of gardening grant…) FAMILY: 3 children, 5 grandchildren who live in CA ONE INTERESTING/WEIRD/QUIRKY THING ABOUT YOU: For 25 years, my real passion in life has been to help smokers who are struggling with their addiction since relapsing myself as Director of the American Lung Association and almost giving up a career I loved. ONE THING YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME: Watching and listening with delight to my garden’s activities, from growing beautiful flowers to observing the critters who share the bounty and continually surprise me with their antics. Joy Gidley POSITION and DEPARTMENT: Secretary, Community Health WHICH LOCATION: Graham Road MAIN DUTIES: BCMH HOW LONG IN PUBLIC HEALTH:9 years ONE INTERESTING/WEIRD/QUIRKY THING ABOUT YOU: My first career was as a cosmetologist. I have certified training in computers and networking. FAMILY Married to Steve with four daughters, Jessica 27, Nicole 27, Kaitlyn 22, and Skylar 8, and one 6-month old grandson, Jonathan ONE THING YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME: I love to read, garden, go shopping with my daughters and play with my grandson Scroll or use the spacebar to advance slide
