  1. 专家介绍 Professor Eryk Dutkiewicz has over 20 years of industrial and academic research experience. Over the last ten years he research focused on quality of service mechanisms for wireless and mobile networks. From 1999 to 2004 he worked for Motorola Labs in Sydney where he directed its wireless research laboratory. Since returning to academia in 2004 he has worked closely with industry partners including Motorola, Agere Systems and Freescale Semiconductor on projects involving wireless sensor networks, mesh networks and UWB technologies. He currently works as the director at the Wireless Communications & Networking Lab of Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, focusing on medium access control and associated cross-layer issues in wireless body area networks and broadband communications networks. He also holds visiting appointments at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing and at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. 报告内容 Cooperative Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) schemes can reduce both transmission energy and latency in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In this seminar we describe initial research into a new cooperative low power Medium Access Control protocol suitable for use with two cooperative MIMO schemes: optimal Beam-forming and Spatial Multiplexing. We use analytical models for total energy consumption and retransmission rates for both MIMO schemes to analyze the proposed MAC protocol. We investigate the impact of the check interval, the number of cooperative transmitting nodes, and the cooperative receiving nodes on the total energy consumption. Cooperative MIMO schemes can find application in environments which suffer from difficult radio channel conditions such as in industrial control or in wireless body area networks. 学 术 报 告 ACADEMIC LECTURE 报告人:澳大利亚 Macquarie大学 无线通信与网络研究室主任 Eryk Dutkiewicz 教授 题目:Medium Access Control for Collaborative MIMO in Wireless Sensor Networks 时间:2009年11月10日 (星期二下午),4:00 – 5:30 PM 地点:浙江大学玉泉校区,第7教学楼,多媒体教室404
