  1. The Student Council of 08-09 Vision, Mission, and Roles

  2. What is the Student Council? • The student council is a group of students, chosen to represent the Students of the school. • The student council is both a commitment and responsibility to the school. • Each of you has been elected to be here, and therefore, has a responsibility.

  3. What is Our Vision? Our Goals? • To provide NJIS student with better facilities and socials • To set higher standards for the next council by creating a better school environment

  4. What is Our Mission? What We Are Going to do • To become a well-organized council and a good representative of the NJIS family. (Become Role-Models) • To learn from our mistakes and incorporate what we have learned from our experience into our work

  5. Student Council Roles We all must agree that the student council so far is not where it can be, judging by our last sports social. This time, each of you will be divided into teams: Managing, Production, Advertising Each team will be responsible for their role. If there is something wrong in, for example, the management, or the social was not run well, the managing team will have to learn from their mistakes and do better next time. If the same problem continues to occur for a long period of time, a member of the team will face consequences (kicked off of the student council and replaced.) The executive council is not a part of these roles, yet aid each team

  6. Managing • You will be responsible for managing all the socials and make sure it runs well and keep everything under control. (Like the last social, the student council had no control whatsoever). • There is a managing team meeting every Thursday • You need to think up anyway possible to manage all the socials. Use creativity

  7. Advertisement • You will be responsible for getting people to come to the social in anyway possible – attract the people. • There will be an advertisement team meeting every Wednesday • You need to think up anyway possible to attract people to come. Use creativity

  8. Production • You will be responsible of all the stuff used in the socials and make sure everything is ready for the social or event. • There is a production team meeting every Tuesday • You need to think up anyway possible to produce better socials. Use creativity

  9. Leaders and Reports • Remember, you are no longer class representatives • In each group, there will be one leader who will report to me (president) , or Tasya (vice), what they have completed one week before the social happens. • The report should be quick notes only, nothing more and should give a brief description of the things the group has accomplished
