  2. MIRS v4.0 Implementation Status Updates • MIRS v4.0 was implemented into ESPC operation on March 31, 2009 as scheduled, and declared its operational status. • Orbital products are now also available in netCDF3. • Gridded products are available in HDF-EOS. • CLASS DSA was updated to reflect the v4.0 changes • Aiwu and Jiang are warping up the documents. • SSMIS TPW has made available on McIDAS for SAB. • AMSU RR is next on the list to be made available on McIDAS for SAB. • IT capacity assessment is ongoing for running MIRS at high resolution in the ESPC operation. • Use of MIRS products • Satellite Analysis Branch Precip Team – evaluating the MIRS TPW • CIRA – Checking out the MIRS TPW, and comparing it with that from MSPPS and FNMOC. • FNMOC – requesting through Shared Processing Gate for the MIRS products in preparing the transition from MSPPS to MIRS. Most likely they will wait for the • NCDC: SSMIS emissivity • NWS-Floridia: need products in AWIPS format. Providing imagery products for now.

  3. NOAA-N’ Readiness • MSPPS Readiness • Products are routinely available to users • On schedule to go operational no May 7, 2009 • MIRS Readiness • Received delta-DAP on March 23, 2009 • The Implementation was not be able to start till early of April due to its conflicts with the MIRS v4.0 implementation timeline. • Targeting to get the data routinely available by end of April • The final promotion will depend on the IT assessment on weather MIRS can be supported for both N18 and N19. If resource is an issue, will need work with users for transition details, include the date to make N19 operational avaiable.
