What is a alternative energy resource? • Alternative energy is an umbrella term that refers to any source of usable energy intended to replace fuel sources without the undesired consequences of the replaced fuels. The alternative energy resource We think is the best for N.I Is Hydro-electric power!!

  3. How does it work? Hydro-electric power works when falling water turns turbines. A damn is usually built with a reservoir.

  4. Four Advantages. • It’s more reliable then others. • Electricity can be generated always. • once the damn is built it’s free. • It can be started quickly.

  5. Two Disadvantages • Two disadvantages of using hydroelectricity are … 1.Its expensive to build. 2.Its difficult to find a suitable site.

  6. Why have we chosen this. • We have chosen hydroelectricity because its easy to set up and once the dam is built , its FREE!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Conclusion! • Hydro electric power is the best alternative Energy to fossil fuels in Northern of Ireland because it’s more reliable, we have lots of rivers we can use and it produces lots of energy.
