  2. Introduction • Thanks to Dave Stauffer for his support & organisation of the development of the Stateye v4.0 by Edotronik • Stateye v4 is currently available from www.edotronik.de/stateye and it is highly recommended that for 1st time users this training be followed as Stateye is still an expert tool • This training is aimed at beginner users of 1st release of the Stateye v4.0 statistical channel compliance tool • It is expected and planned that further releases of Stateye v4 based on alpha users feedback and final feature integration before a final release to the OIF and www.stateye.org open source developers forum is done • As of the 14th December 2005, support and bug reporting can be done via support.stateye@edotronik.de and up to date information concerning reported bugs/fixes will be made available • Stateye v4 is a complete rewrite of the original Stateye, and now offers a flexible XML interface and object orientated structure for further development, with many parts in c++ for improved performance

  3. Release note Overview • A1.1 A1.2 Previous resolution problems are solved through time interpolation as opposed to frequency extrapolation • A1.3 Amplitude calculation is now based on interpolation • A1.4 Optimisation uses non-matlab based simplex method which has given stable results. Alternative sweep methods can be also performed. • A2.1 Calculation of coefficients is in the presence of crosstalk, contrary to RFQ. During testing it was observed that crosstalk is fundamental to correct coefficient calculation of deemphasis due to noise enhancement • A2.2 A warning is generated when a crosstalk aggressor influence due to accuracy settings is neglected • A3 DC extrapolation is updated • Although Stateye v4 should not include any graphical user interfaces (GUI), a simple tool for touchstone file entry is included and further tools shall be developed by Edotronik subject to contact • Many minor bugs and instability in the pre v4 stateye have been eliminated and tested by OIF contributed testcases, numbering over 3500

  4. Release note Overview • A4 Batch Processing • A4.1 An XML input format for structured parameter definitions is elaborated to ensure error free execution of the matlab scripts • A4.2 Full touchstone compatibility is ensured and tested • A4.3 XML object orientated tag definitions allow easy rerunning of any simulation • A4.4 Results are available via graphical and csv format from structured directory tree • A4.5 Input parameters are stored in csv file along with results • A4.6 Options are included in XML for graphical output, and maximum graphical information is generated for debug even under error conditions e.g. wrong ports • A5 TDR graphic included using standard methods, however, validity of TDR results to be discussed and possibly updated for v4.1

  5. Release note Overview • A6 Continuous Linear Equaliser functionality integrated as filter. Automatic adaption of filter based on channel response disabled for v4.0, but will be enabled for v4.1 • B3 Cascade functionality agreed for v4.1, included in v4.0 • V4.1 release will include • extension to DC extrapolation for crosstalk agressor • warning for insufficient s-parameter data • Work around for MATLAB bug in handling invisible figures
