Background • Nigeria submitted its FNC in Nov. 2003 • In accordance with the UNFCCC Guidelines on the preparation o National Communication, Nigeria’s FNC contents include: - Executive Summary - National Circumstances - GHG Inventory - Mitigation Options - Climate Change Scenario - Impacts, Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Strategies - Research and Systematic Observations - Sustainable Development and Integrated Planning - Project Proposals for Climate Change Studies - Annexes - References.

  3. SECTORS • Energy • Industrial Processes/Process Industries • Solvents and other Products Use • Agriculture • Land Use Change and Forestry • Wastes

  4. GASES • Carbon dioxide (CO2) • Methane (CH4) • Nitrous Oxide (N2O) • Carbon Monoxide (CO) • Oxides of Nitrogen (NOX) • Non-Metallic Volatile Organic Compounds (NMVOC)

  5. DATA SOURCES BY SECTOR • ENERGY - Fossil Fuels (CO2, CH4, N2O, CO, NOX and NMVOC) - Gas Flaring - Transportation - Electricity Generation - Biomass Fuels: (CH4, N2O, CO, NOX and NMVOC)
