  2. Company Overview: Mission Statement • Fiber Optic Network deployment: Backbone Infrastructure • Network Operation: Innovation & Technology • Services Implementation: Real Solutions for All Your Needs • Network Management: Monitoring & Customer Support Meeting the Future

  3. Company Overview: Mission Statement • Albanian Telecommunications Union (ATU) was established on September 2010. The core business of the company is wholesale capacity provider in Albania, for both data and internet. The capacity will be provided via a fully owned fiber optic network, which can be considered as the backbone network of Albania. • By interconnecting all the large cities of the country, as well as the borders of all the neighboring countries, ATU can provide services to local and international markets while managing the growing volume of telecommunications traffic from and to Albania. • Based on the network deployment progress, exceeding the expectations of its early plan, different sections of the network are brought into operation, and the whole network is scheduled to be fully operational early Q2 2012. ATU’s objective is to guarantee the highest quality of telecommunications services at very competitive prices Meeting the Future

  5. Fiber Optic Network Deployment The license for the construction and operation of the fiber network on the Albanian national highways, has been granted to ATU by the Governmental Authorities. The deployment of the fiber optic network is performed by usage of the mini trenching method for the construction of the infrastructure, and the fiber blowing method for installation of the fiber optic cable. Both methods allow for very efficient work times. Both the construction and fiber optic works are being performed by company’s staff. The fiber optic network will be constructed in two phases. The first phase of the network involves the interconnection of all major cities along with all the borders of Albania. This phase is completed, making the network operational for its largest part. The total length of first phase is approx. 750 Km. During the second phase ATU plans to fully protect the network by deploying alternative routes in a ring structure. Backbone Infrastructure

  6. Current Network Status • The Google network map shows the fibre optic network that will be constructed throughout Albania. • Green Line: This section is now completed and fully operational. • Red Line: This section is not yet operational. The construction of this section is scheduled to commence within February 2012 and to become operational by end of April 2012. Backbone Infrastructure

  7. Points of Presence In all the major cities that the fiber optic network is constructed, Points of Presence (PoPs) are also implemented. These PoPs serve as a mini data center in order to house ATU and customers’ telecom mission critical IT equipment, enabling each Customer to create a main PoP for delivering service to each city of interest Backbone Infrastructure

  9. Network Operation: Innovation & Technology ATU’s transmission network is based on DWDM technology that can meet the latest market requirements for capacities. The transmission network supports 40 lambdas, where each lambda has a transmission capacity of 10Gb/s. The customer interfaces supported include SDH and Ethernet that cover the majority of customer requirements. ATU aims to provide the best quality of services. The strong cooperation with worldwide leading companies in Network Technologies for the provision of active transmission equipment guarantees the quality level of the services provided. State of the Art in Fiber Optics

  11. Services Implementation Based on the state of the art transmission equipment, ATU is able to offer services meeting the following commercial agreements: • Leased lines Point-to-Point • Long term Leased Lines Point-to-Point • Dark Fiber based on IRU agreement • Capacity based on IRU agreement • Internet access The aforementioned services include capacities that range from STM-1/4/16/64 on SDH technology, and from 10Mbps /100Mbps /1000Mbps /10 Gbps on Ethernet technology, according to customer requirements. Real Solutions for All Your Needs

  12. Company Overview: Mission Statement • Fiber Optic Network Deployment: Backbone Infrastructure • Network Operation: Innovation & Technology • Services Implementation: Real Solutions for All Your Needs • Network Management: Monitoring & Customer Support Meeting the Future

  13. Network Management: Operation, Monitoring & Customer Support • The operational activity of the network is monitored on a 24/7 basis by our Network Operation Center (NOC) to ensure the optimum performance of the network. • ATU uses the Network Management System (NMS) offering security when it comes to alerting of faults, as well as for the implementation of working fault management procedures, which can realize quick and effective response in case a fault in service operation occurs. • In addition, ATU has a Network Monitoring Center (NMC) to ensure smooth operation of the services. NMC operates on a 24/7 basis, 365 days per year, in order to respond to all queries or to manage tickets for troubleshooting. Meeting the Future
