  8. Definition of training What is Training? Who creates it? Who monitors it? Who and how is it delivered? What constitutes uninterrupted training?

Categories of Training • Must Have (Outside Authorities) • Mandatory Training • High Risk- OSHA-ISO • Need to Have (Internal) • Safety Issues/Training Issues/FMZ Issues • District wide poor performance- new dangerous occupancies-New tool or procedure • Nice to have (Internal) • Low Risk-Low or High Frequency • Makes us better

  12. Move ups and coverage Goal: • Cut move ups for training purposes significantly by: • Keep drills short and focused. (30 to 60 min.) • Keeping companies in-service in their FMZ • Keeping companies available for fires in or close to their FMZ with coverage for EMS calls, when necessary. • Move up companies will remain in their Battalion whenever possible. • E17 South/E9 for station 11/E7 East/E5 North TR4 for station 2/ E7 and E5 can cover E6

  13. How, you ask? Crews and BTO will be looking for areas to drill that border FMZ’s Classroom drills: Satellite Training Facilities (East: TC/7/140 North: Stn 4/Stn 2 South: Stn 15. We are working with the college for drill grounds and classrooms as well) We are working with the County to find out when Demolition Permits are applied for.

Recertification Update • 2013-2015 Mandatory Transition Topics (40) • Does not meet all CE hours required • EMT-B – 24 topics (12 hours) • EMT-I – 19 topics (9.5 hours) • EMT-P – 9 topics (4.5 hours) • Centrelearn Training Plan • Covers Transition Topics and general hours • Clackamas Trainers Group Videos • Requires live feedback from identified Proctor

Proctor Selection • Recertification topics only • Material sent to Proctor • Teaching points communicated monthly • Facilitate discussion about topic/video • Complete short test individually on Centrelearn • One designated per shift per station • Requirements: • Must be Paramedic • Cannot be a Probationary Firefighter
