  4. Where it occurs • Areas with major rivers, streams, or other major water ways

  5. Available Warning System • Flash flood warnings can be issued when the Doppler radar indicates very heavy reflectivities

  6. Safety Procedures • Find out if you live in a flood prone area • Find out whether your property is above or below flood level • Have an evacuation plan • Keep first aid available • Keep radio, flashlight, and portable food supplies that do not need refrigeration
