  2. Do Now Take out your homework. Answer the following questions: Explain how the government of Athens changed before, during, and after the Peloponnesian War. Competition over what 2 things led to conflicts? How did these conflicts affect Greece?

  3. Do Now Answers 1. Before the war, Athens had a democracy. After their surrender to Sparta, they were ruled by the Thirty Tyrants. This was a dictatorship. Following their independence, Athens returned to democracy, but they were not able to become a full democracy because people wanted a strong leader. 2. Competition over wealth and power led to conflicts. 3. These conflicts led Greece to become unstable.
