  1. Iowa Test of Basic Skills(ITBS) grades 3 and 6 Mukilteo School District Spring 2002

  2. Grades 3 & 6 WA/MSD Highlights • At grade 3, Mukilteo scored one point higher in reading and three points higher in math than the state. • Students in grade 6 at Mukilteo scored one point higher in reading and math and three points higher in language than the state.

  5. ITBS District Highlights: gr. 3 Reading and language scores remained the same, while math and core totals increased by two points each. Math has increased consistently over the past four years.

  7. Building Highlights: Grade 3 • Five schools increased their scores in reading; 3 schools remained the same. • Seven schools went up in math with 2 schools remaining the same as last year. • Eight schools increased their language scores.

  12. ITBS District Highlights: gr. 6 Sixth grade results increased 5 points in math, and edged higher by one point in language. Reading, social studies and science decreased one or two points.

Building Highlights: Grade 6 • Olympic View increased in reading, math and language. • All middle schools demonstrated increases in math of 1- 9 points. • Two schools showed improvement in language and one remained the same. VO decreased by 3 points. • Science scores were up or remained the same at EX and OV respectively. • Social studies scores were up for OV and down for EX, HP, and VO.

  21. Superintendent’s Performance Objectives Objective D: 18.5% to 14% Reduce the percent of third graders reading below grade level from eighteen and one half percent (2001) to fourteen percent as measured by the ITBS by the end of the 2001-02 school year.

Superintendent’s Performance Objectives Objective E: 10.9% to 6% By the end of the 2001-02 school year, reduce the percent of third graders who have been continuously enrolled (since first grade) in the District and who are reading below grade level from ten and nine tenths percent (2000-01) to six percent as measured by the ITBS.

  23. Below Grade Level Defined Below grade level is defined as obtaining a score below a 3.0 grade equivalent on the spring ITBS in third grade.
