  1. Easy Tips For Longer Lasting Leather Shoes Although leather is a durable material, it dries out over time, particularly when it's not taken care of regularly. The leather shoes may have a rough surface or look cracked, leaving them with a monotonous appearance. The treatment of leather shoes not only needs conditioning but also a decent cleaning to get rid of the embedded dirt. After proper cleaning and conditioning, leather shoes can appear as if new again. Things You will need: Cloth, Liquid detergent, Bitumen, Microfiber cloths, and leather conditioner spray. Leather Shoes Cleaning Steps to follow: 1. First of all, brush your leather boots with a soft brush, without grating them. It's vital that if you stained your shoes with mud, clean it as soon as possible because the time will find yourself damaging the leather fabric. 2. Once you see your boots, you'll know if the leather is treated or untreated. If it's treated or “finished” it'll be less porous, but if it's untreated, it'll be more vulnerable to water stains. 3. If your boots are treated, buy an enamel for boots and apply it to the shoes with a cloth.

  2. 4. If the leather of your boots is untreated, the oil is good for polishing, rubbing it with a chunk of fabric. The wax horse is also good, and even the neutral cream for the body. When you have thrown either of the 2 products – oil or enamel – remove the surplus with a dry cloth, ensuring you've got covered all the seams and closures. 5. Remove shoelaces, if any, and wash them separately by hand with a teaspoon of good liquid detergent. Rinse the cords completely and let them air dry. 6. Clean dust and dirt from the surface and within leather shoes with a soft cloth. Place a spoonful of bitumen on a clean microfiber cloth. 7. Keep the inside of the shoe with one hand and rub with the bitumen skin area, starting at the rear of the shoe. Make small circular movements, completely covering the leather shoes. Repeat with the other shoe. 8. Let the bitumen dry for 2 or 3 hours. Wipe off any excess with a clean microfiber cloth. 9. Spray the shoes nicely with a leather conditioner, or condition them with one or two tablespoons of oil in a microfiber cloth wiping together with the shoes. 10. Allow the conditioner to penetrate the skin for 10 minutes. Remove any excess conditioner with a clean cloth. With these instructions, you'll be able to enjoy leather shoes that will look new again.
