  7. Series 2000 Release 6.2 New Features

  8. Release 6.2 New Features • This Module explains the following new features: • Panoramic View • Autoscan for the Presenter • Token Command Association/Token Indicate Response Support (TCA/TIR)

  9. New Panoramic View Feature • The ability to divide the continuous presence video site view into three windows • The top view appears in “landscape” format across the top of the other two site views New Panoramic Window View Original Standard (Quadrant) View

  10. Panoramic View Supports • Three anchored windows • Two anchored windows with one voice activated • Switching between full screen and Panoramic Continuous Presence • Lecture Mode • CollaboRates™ and up to E1/T1 rates (requires Enhanced Continuous Presence and CollaboRates Option) • Conference Talk

  11. Panoramic View Supports (cont.) • Chair Control • H.261 CIF and QCIF video formats • Annex D Graphics

  12. Generating Panoramic View • Panoramic View generated using minimal cropping of image • capture 164 lines from middle of image • 1/6 taller than standard CP • uses only 3 to 4 scan lines from lower two windows • Will not use filtering of lines to modify the image • Reduces possible issues with frame rate reduction.

  21. Panoramic Restrictions • Release 6.2 • Requires Continuous Presence Module (CPM) • Voice Activated Window requires Enhanced Continuous Presence and Collaborates option

  22. Autoscan Trainer

  23. New Autoscan Feature • Allows the primary broadcaster (presenter or lecturer) to view all sites in a conference for a pre-defined interval • This feature is of particular value in distance learning applications.

  24. Autoscan Operation • Must configure before conference starts • Then on by default • Loops through the sites in order by site number as defined by Conference Manager • New people added at end of list • Default scan 15 seconds per site • User selectable 3 digit scan rate (in seconds) • Only the broadcaster sees the Autoscan display (doesn’t include broadcaster’s site) • Other participants see full screen view of the presenter/lecturer

  25. Autoscan Supports • Modes Supported • Continuous Presence Lecture mode • Continuous Presence Lecture mode with Voice Activated Window • Fixed Presenter Mode

  26. Autoscan in Fixed Presenter • Participants see presenter full screen • Presenter views each site full screen for pre-defined interval in order of site number • Autoscan stops with voice activation to view the loudest speaker if Broadcaster’s View is defined as Voice Activated. • Autoscan resumes after the Presenter speaks for two scan rates • Suggested mode for distance learning

  29. Autoscan in Continuous Presence Lecture Mode • Continuous Presence Lecture Mode (no voice activated window) • Autoscan is activated for one window in the video mix. This window will cycle through the roster of unanchored sites that are currently transmitting video. • The Autoscan window • Does not display the Lecturer • Does not display anchored sites • Prevents seeing the same user in two different windows at the same time.

  33. Autoscan in Continuous Presence Lecture Mode • With Voice Activated Window • Autoscan is a subroutine of voice activated switching • You scan whenthe lecturer or anchored sites are speaking • Autoscan stops with voice activation to view the loudest non-anchored speaker • Autoscan resumes after the lecturer or anchored sites speak for two scan rates • Autoscan and Voice Activated occur in the same window.

  39. Autoscan Restrictions • Must configure before conference • For release 6.2 • Not for use with Collaborates • Turn on/off through Conference Manager (not with Chair control) • Not supported in cascaded continuous presence lecture mode conferences

  40. TCA/TIR Support • Token Command Association (TCA) • A standard BAS code sent by an endpoint requesting the MCU to provide the terminal numbers associated with the Chair, HSD, and LSD token holders • Token Indicate Response (TIR) • A standard BAS code that responds to a TCA request which includes the MCU and terminal numbers of the Chair, HSD, and LSD token holders

  41. TCA/TIR BAS Codes • Endpoints which support TCA/TIR can request from the MCU, the names of the holders of low speed data, high speed data, and chair control tokens TCA CODEC MCU TIR

  42. Series 2000 Release 6.2 Enhancements

  43. Release 6.2 Enhancements • HSD2 Support • INF File Changes • Triple Bus Support

  44. HSD2 Enhancement • HSD2 replaces HSD • Updated V.35/RS-449 High Speed Data Module • Supports the existing HSD functionality • Benefits • The HSD2 module works with unsynchronized interfaces • FIFO buffer to resolve clock shift • The HSD2 card has a Master clock mode • Provide network bus clocking for the MCU • For situations where V.35 is the only interface used (e.g., ISDN not available or too expensive)

  45. HSD2 Enhancement • Supported in all chassis types (2007 &2020) • Supports 14 cards for 2x64k and 12 cards for all other connections • Fully compatible with other network cards (including HSD) • V.35 and RS449 connections are now detected automatically (no jumpers required) • Supports cascading across HSD2 modules and between HSD and HSD2
