  2. Weight and Balance Safety Calculating Center of Gravity (CG) Loading configurations

  3. Safety Stay within the limitations

  4. Center of Gravity Location in airplane where all forces are balanced All three axes pass through CG String analogy

  5. CG Range Check it out one time

  6. Weight at a Distance Origin (Place to Start) Weights are known See Saw Middle Weight on both ends

  7. INSERT PICTURE HERE

  8. Airplanes Datum Line=imaginary line of reference Arm=distance from datum (Inches Weight=measured (pounds) Moment

  9. More Terms Gross Take Off Weight max weight at take off 1 gal AvGas = 6 lbs 1 gal Oil = 7.5 lbs Basic Empty Weight normally includes unusable fuel and full oil (Early 1970s)

  10. Equations Moment=Weight x Arm Center of Gravity = Total Moment Total Weight

  11. The Table CG=TotalMoment/Total Weight=_______________ Limitations Forward _________(CG or Mom) Aft ______(CG or Mom)

  12. Two Charts Used to determine moments READ EVERYTHING ON THE CHART FIRST Figure 35 Table Line Graph
