  8. GERMAN CLUB • Soles 4 Souls – its mission is to give relief to those suffering from disease or poverty. • Started by Wayne Elsey after the 2004 tsunami • More than a quarter of a million shoes have been donated since 2004.

  9. GERMAN CLUB • This year the German club was able to collect more than 150 pairs of shoes through the generosity of the faculty and students.

  11. GERMAN CLUB • Kristkindl market in Philadelphia is a smaller version of the Christmas markets of Germany. • There were vendors from whom students were able to buy authentic German handmade wood and glass ornaments and taste traditional foods.

SPANISH CLUB • Thanksgiving Food Drive - $675 to feed 45 families • Celebrating 34 years of community service, ACLAMO Family Center provides improved access to economic, educational, health, social and cultural opportunities to low-income Montgomery County, especially those of Spanish-speaking heritage.

  17. MARTINIQUE • 8 days of immersion in language, culture, history & geography • Community service-based trip (cleaning beaches, repairing boats & interacting with young children) • Hiking & kayaking • Excursions to towns to experience cuisine & bargaining

  22. ALSACE EXCHANGE • Cernay – Alsace region of France • Franco-Germanic cultures • 14 students & 2 teachers from Collège René Cassin are being hosted for 16 days by MSD families

  23. SPANISH IMMERSION • Movie night • Welcome breakfast • Farewell dinner – dance routine, band, interviews, slide show and T-shirt distribution • Christmas cards for host families

  24. SPANISH IMMERSION • IES Padre Manjón – 4 days in school • Full day excursions to the Alhambra, Córdoba and Nerja • Farewell dinner • Trips taken with the individual families • Final day in Madrid before return to U.S.
