  2. Trust: Definition Firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something: i.e. “relations have to be built on trust” “they have been able to win the trust of the others”

  3. Sukkot Sukkot commemorates the years that the Jews spent in the desert on their way to the Promised Land, and celebrates the way in which God protected them under difficult desert conditions. Sukkot is also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, or the Feast of Booths.

  4. You shall dwell in sukkot seven days...in order that future generations may know that I made the Israelite people live in sukkot when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I the Lord your God.Leviticus 23:42

  5. What’s a Sukkah?

  6. What is a Sukkah? • As part of the celebration of Sukkot, Jewish people build a Sukkah in their garden or at their synagogue. • A Sukkah is like a hut but you must be able to see the stars through the roof.

  7. What does a Sukkah look like?

  10. A Sukkot thought by Chief Rabbi Dr Jonathan Sacks If I were to summarise the message of Sukkot I'd say it's a tutorial in how to live with insecurity and still celebrate life…. And that's when I learned the meaning of Tabernacles and its message for our time. Life can be full of risk and yet still be a blessing. Faith doesn't mean living with certainty. Faith is the courage to live with uncertainty, knowing that God is with us on that tough but necessary journey to a world that honours life and treasures peace.

  11. The journey of life may be easy, may be hard, there’ll be danger on the way;with Christ at my side I’ll do battle as I ride,‘gainst the foe that would lead me astray. Will you ride, ride, ride with the King of kings, will you follow my leader true; will you shout hosanna to the lowly Son of God, who died for me and you?

  12. My burden is light and a song is in my heart,as I travel on life’s way;for Christ is my Lord and he’s given me his word, that by my side he’ll stay. Will you ride, ride, ride with the King of kings, will you follow my leader true; will you shout hosanna to the lowly Son of God, who died for me and you?

  13. A Jewish Prayer (adapted) This day will you strengthen us This day will you bless us This day will you uplift us This day may we learn to trust each other and you. Amen.

  14. Sukkot Sukkot nights...

  15. Be still, for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here; come bow before him now with reverence and fear. In him no sin is found, we stand on holy ground; be still, for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here. Be still for the Presence of the Lord

  16. Be still, for the glory of the Lord is shining all around; he burns with holy fire, with splendour he is crowned. How awesome is the sight, our radiant King of light! be still, for the glory of the Lord is shining all around. Be still for the Presence of the Lord

  17. Be still, for the power of the Lord is moving in this place; he comes to cleanse and heal, to minister his grace. No work too hard for him, in faith receive from him; be still, for the power of the Lord is moving in this place. Be still for the Presence of the Lord
