  5. Structured Data Model Online LIMS incorporates the lab’s natural and logical workflow in the design of their data model. This creates a clean and well-defined structure with two distinct modules: Analytical and Management. The Online Worksheet is at the core of the Analytical module and it integrates all instruments in the lab. OnLab is the main module used for the lab management. This structure has proven very successful and flexible and is easily adapted to any lab.

  6. Data Handling Calculation dialog. Includes options for formula, rounding format and detection limit. The Online Worksheet supports EVEN-ROUNDING. With this method the average of the rounded numbers is the same as the average of the numbers before rounding. This is important to minimized data biases and errors caused by rounding. 1.20 <> 1.2 !!! Online LIMS stores and performs calculations with all significant digits, ensuring that there will be no lost in the precision of a reading.

This concept mimics the original chemist notebook.

  8. OnLQC – Interactive QC/QA The Online Worksheet is integrated with an advanced quality control system with excellent data analysis capabilities. It handles Replicates (Dups) and References.

  9. OnLAB – Laboratory Management OnLAB is the core of the Lab Management module. This module allows managers to review final results, print reports, and run various management statistics. OnLAB’s LIMS data model is the unique one capable to handle routine (process) and non-routine (any) samples.

  10. LabData – Laboratory Data LabData is for the online self-service assay requests. Lab clients can view published results. LabData eliminates the time-consuming report preparation and allows clients to access other information like sample tracking, report status, etc.

  11. Instrument Integration File transfer instruments ICP PLASMA XRF OES This group of instruments usually measure several elements at a time. These instruments generate a file that is imported to the PC. Serial connected Instruments Balances LECO Spectrophotometers This group of instruments usually measure a single element at a time These instruments connect to the PC using a serial cable. Online instruments are connected through a RS232 (serial cable) to the computer. This connection is called On-Line because as soon the instruments sends data it is parsed and written directly into the currently selected cell in the worksheet File Import Instruments are instruments that generate a file with analytical data at the end of an analysis session. This file is imported and parsed by the Online Worksheet. Usually these instruments are multi-element and run in conjunction with auto samplers.

  12. Online LIMS Functionality Online LIMS was designed to support geochemical and environmental laboratories. It simplifies the entire lab workflow by providing simple but powerful tools.

Configurable Worklist Online LIMS provides color coded information: • RED for pending work • GREEN for completed work • BLUE for invoiced work Each of those colors is highlighted (bright color) when a report is locked or approved. Online LIMS main navigation is a Worklist Browser. Many filters allow easily to query trough all LAB work.

Validation process includes QA/QC validation and making all data read-only to protect it from further modification.   20. Data Audit Trail Online LIMS Audit trail is object oriented, what means that the audit is linked to each function.

  21. Instrument maintenance and Calibration Instrument maintenance and calibration status is stored on the Instrument database and validated when starting a reading session.

  22. Reporting A intelligent CofA engine formats Certificates to fit into a page. Advanced statistical reports over selected Jobs (Advanced Query and Reporting) help to manage the workload on a Lab.
