    4. 1.0 Introduction 1.1 Background Broadband important for communication "Mr. Watson -- come here -- I want to see you" (first words by telephone by Alexander Graham Bell, March 10, 1876), CPB, (2005). Broadband is another phase in communication between people The telecommunication industry has undergone many metamorphose of revolution with customers of todays exchanging sound, video and data at amazing speed. In technical sense, broadband is a dynamic notion with buzzwords starting from ISDN via ADSL, ADSL2+, SDSL leading to VDSL

    5. 1.2 Broadband as an ecosystem Broadband is typically defined as a high-speed communications network that connects end users at data transfer speeds that are greater than some minimum (e.g. 256 kbit/s) According to Tim et al, (2009) re-defined broadband as an ecosystem that comprises different elements that use high-speed connectivity to interact in different ways (as shown in Figure 1)
